What is a Google Business Profile?
A Google Business Profile (previously known as Google My Business and Google Places) is a free tool that is used to tell Google the important information about a business, so that it can appear on Google maps and at the top of local search results, in what is known as the 3 pack.
You can have the best website in the world, but if you don't have a Google Business Profile, and you offer a local service, it is impossible for your business to appear on Google Maps or in the local 3 pack.

Having a decent quantity of good reviews on your profile, is one of the most beneficial things that a profile can have.
As with the services section, the products section is a great way to include keywords relating to your business. However, unlike the services section, on top of being able to add a name and description for the product, you can also include a photo, and a link to the product page on your website.
Businesses that sell food, can upload menus to their profile as well.
Posts / Special Offers
You can also share pages, posts, announcements and special offers on your profile, which is another great way to boost your visibility.
